comics actors, SNL, stand upsChris Rock is an American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director. He was born on February 7, 1965, in Andrews, South Carolina, USA. Chris Rock rose to fame in the 1990s as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and through his stand-up comedy performances.
Rock is widely regarded as one of the greatest stand-up comedians of his generation. He has won multiple Emmy Awards for his comedy specials and has been praised for his sharp and socially conscious humor. Some of his most well-known comedy specials include “Bring the Pain” and “Bigger & Blacker.”
Apart from his successful stand-up career, Chris Rock has acted in numerous films and television shows. He has also worked as a writer, producer, and director. Notable projects include the sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris,” which is based on his own childhood, and his directorial debut, “Head of State.”
In New Jack City, Rock played a character known as Pooky. Since then some people refer to a crack pipe as a pooky.
Rock has won four Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards.
